Starting a Business
Updated 2025 – A Local Guide for Entrepreneurs
Serving entrepreneurs looking to open or grow in Downtown Tiffin.
Downtown Tiffin is home to a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, offices, entertainment venues, and attractions. Whether you are launching a startup, relocating an existing business, or expanding your current operations, this guide outlines the essential steps to help you succeed. Our team is here to connect you with local contacts, resources, and incentives at every stage.
1. Business Counseling and Planning Support
Starting with the right plan can save time and help avoid costly mistakes. Before applying for most funding programs, it is important to have a solid business plan and realistic financial projections.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Terra State Community College offers no-cost, one-on-one advising. They can assist with developing or refining business plans, preparing financial documents, and becoming loan-ready.
Located on campus since 1988, the SBDC is a trusted resource for entrepreneurs across the region. While occasional workshops may have a fee, all core advising services are provided at no charge. If you are unsure where to begin, this is an ideal starting point.
