Downtown Tiffin Gears Up for 10th Annual St. Paddy’s Day 5K

TIFFIN, OHIO – January 21, 2025 – The 10th annual Downtown Tiffin St. Paddy’s Day 5K Run/Walk is set to take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Known as “the luckiest 5K there is,” the event celebrates a decade of festive fun and fitness while supporting downtown revitalization programs.

The race will begin at Calvert Catholic Schools, located at 152 Madison Street, with check-in starting at 8:30 a.m. and the race starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. Registration is $30 and includes a commemorative race T-shirt for participants who register by March 1. Children aged 10 and under can participate for free, with an option to purchase a youth T-shirt.

Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners in youth, adult, and senior categories. A prize for the best-dressed participant will encourage runners and walkers to showcase their St. Patrick’s Day spirit with creative costumes and festive green attire. Official timing for the race will be provided by Dave’s Running.

Current race sponsors include Clover Club, Financial Design Agency of Ohio, Reineke Family Dealerships, Seneca News Daily, Seneca Starvue Theater & Events, Tiell Financial Group, and UIS Insurance & Investments. Heritage Ohio Announces Tiffin as a 2024 Nationally Certified Main Street Community

Columbus, OH – January 14, 2025 – Heritage Ohio and Main Street America proudly recognize Downtown Tiffin as a Nationally Certified Main Street Community for 2024. A member of the Ohio Main Street Program since 2015, Tiffin has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to downtown revitalization and community development.

During a wide-ranging on-site evaluation, the board of Downtown Tiffin showcased a vibrant and effective program achieving measurable outcomes in downtown renewal. This Accreditation status reflects adherence to the Main Street America program’s rigorous standards, which include:

  • Building grassroots revitalization initiatives,
  • Cultivating strong public-private partnerships,
  • Expanding economic opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and
  • Actively preserving historic places, spaces, and cultural assets.

“Tiffin has shown unwavering dedication to revitalizing our downtown and fostering a vibrant, welcoming community. Downtown Tiffin Kicks Off 2025 Third Thursday Events with “Beat the Winter Blues”

TIFFIN, OHIO – January 10, 2025 – The first Third Thursday event of 2025 in Downtown Tiffin, titled “Beat the Winter Blues,” will take place on January 16th. This all-day event is designed to bring brightness and warmth to the community.

The event will feature special offers, promotions, and activities throughout Downtown Tiffin. From spots serving cozy hot drinks to in-store experiences and deals from local shops, restaurants, and service providers, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Beat the Winter Blues” offers an opportunity to shake off the winter chill, reconnect with friends and family, and support the local downtown businesses. Whether indulging in a warm cup of coffee, discovering unique items at local boutiques, or savoring a meal at one of the many eateries, Downtown Tiffin promises a day filled with warmth and community spirit.

Façade Enhancement Program continues into 2025

TIFFIN, Ohio – Jan. 6, 2025 – The Façade Enhancement Program is a City of Tiffin reimbursement grant that was started in 2014 and provides a 50 percent match of funds for eligible exterior improvements on residential and commercial structures within the downtown historic district. Each building is eligible to receive up to $10,000 per calendar year.

Since the Façade Enhancement Program’s inception in 2014, 122 projects have been approved for a total downtown investment of more than $2.9 million. The program continues to be successful with 6 building project approvals in 2024, for an investment of more than $201,050.

The City of Tiffin has approved $100,000 for the program to continue into 2025 and registration is now open. Eligible improvements include all exterior improvements to the appearance of an eligible downtown building front façade. These improvements include: awnings, masonry work, painting, restoration or replacement of exterior windows and doors, repair or replacement of roofing systems, fire escapes or exterior upper floor access, and any other visible exterior improvements, subject to approval by the Architectural Board of Review.

The Glo Collective to Open New Med Spa Location in Historic Downtown Tiffin

TIFFIN, OHIO – January 3, 2025 – The Glo Collective, a full-service medical spa, is excited to announce its new location at 273 S. Washington Street in Downtown Tiffin. The Glo Collective will offer a variety of aesthetic and wellness services, including injections, laser treatments, facials, chemical peels, and medical weight management.

Gwen Kantner, registered nurse and injection specialist, shared her excitement for opening in Downtown Tiffin. “I have always been passionate about serving my community, and the opening of The Glo Collective in Downtown Tiffin is a dream come true. The vibrant atmosphere, frequent events, and community involvement make it the perfect place to build connections and help people look and feel their best,” said Kantner. Charlie Palmer, nurse practitioner said, “I’m so excited to see this growing business join the downtown community. The Glo Collective team strives to make each visit a relaxing and individualized experience not to be forgotten.”
