Tiffin Community Foundation Celebrates 40 Years of Impactful Philanthropy

May 24, 2023

TIFFIN, OHIO – May 24, 2023 – The Tiffin Community Foundation (TCF) is delighted to announce its 40th anniversary celebration, commemorating four decades of dedicated service to the Tiffin community.  Founded in 1983 by Attorney Charles D. “Bud” Hering, Jr., with the invaluable assistance of Warren Kahn of Fifth Third Bank, TCF has become a cornerstone of philanthropy and community support, fostering positive change for thousands of individuals and organizations in the area.

Over the past 40 years, the Tiffin Community Foundation has experienced remarkable growth and currently manages over 100 funds, with approximately $30 million in assets.  This enduring success is a testament to the unwavering support and generosity of donors within our community.  Through their contributions, TCF has been able to award over $15 million in grants, scholarships, and support to a wide range of causes, helping to uplift and empower individuals, families, and community initiatives.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the Tiffin Community Foundation will be hosting a celebratory event on October 10, 2023, at Ironwood restaurant.  This gathering will be open to the public and bring together community members, donors, partners, and stakeholders to honor the Foundation’s achievements and reflect on the positive impact it has made over the years.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the Tiffin Community Foundation is launching the “Forty Dollars for Forty Years” campaign.  This initiative aims to encourage community members to contribute $40 or more, symbolizing the Foundation’s 40 years of service.  The funds raised through this campaign will further strengthen TCF’s ability to support and address the evolving needs of the community.

In addition to the campaign, the Tiffin Community Foundation is proud to sponsor various community events throughout the year, which will showcase the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.  These events include:

  • “Kidchella” at Cherry Alley during Downtown Tiffin’s 3rd Thursday, June 15th, Fête de la Musique:  A family-friendly event that encourages children to embrace their creativity and love for music while trying out different musical instruments.
  • East Green Concert on July 15: A tribute to Every Child to Dream Big Dreams, this concert will feature Tiffin native Regina Sayles & Friends.
  • September 15-17 Heritage Festival:  Tiffin Women in Action will host an array of children’s activities at JAM’s located on Madison and Jefferson Streets.

Mayor Dawn Iannantuono expressed her appreciation for the Tiffin Community Foundation’s 40 years of dedicated service, saying, “The Tiffin Community Foundation has been an invaluable partner in our community’s growth and development.  They have consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the lives of our residents, supporting local initiatives, and fostering a strong sense of community.  We congratulate them on this significant milestone and look forward to their continued positive impact in the years to come.”

The Tiffin Community Foundation invites all community members, supporters, and partners to join them in celebrating their 40th anniversary and honoring the achievements made possible through the collective efforts of the Tiffin community.

About Downtown Tiffin

The revitalization of downtown Tiffin began in 2011, when a group of community members came together to form “Tiffin Tomorrow”, with the goal of promoting and encouraging economic development in Downtown Tiffin, and creating plans, programs, and actions to ensure long-term vitality and prosperity. In 2014, the City of Tiffin contracted with SIEDC to act as the downtown organization and “Tiffin Tomorrow” came under the SIEDC (now TSEP) umbrella as the “Downtown Development Board,” which serves as the governing board of the downtown organization. In 2015, Tiffin joined Heritage Ohio’s Main Street Program. For more information, click here.
